Female Figurine Wearing a Necklace

This female statuette, modeled and embellished with added beads of clay, seems to be hiding her face beneath a bird-shaped mask. She descends from a Neolithic figurative tradition that, in the region of Mehrgarh (modern Pakistan), dates from the 7th millennium BCE.
