Ottoman Armor of a Rider and a Horse

end of 15th century - beginning of 16th century

This set of armour is composed of an assembly of metal plates, a technique that lightened its weight and gave the horse and its rider greater mobility on the battlefield. The armour bears a mark that identifies it as coming from one of the imperial arsenals in Istanbul.
