Platform of Confidence – Wealth Looting in Closed Session 1
2016
Omar Ba
Omar Ba (b. 1977) uses brushes and his fingers to create the unique texture of his works, which meld fine details and effects of vibration. In Platform of Confidence, the silhouettes of baobab trees incorporated into what looks like African cloth suggest the plundering and deforestation of Sub-Saharan Africa before the gaze of powerless eyes.
