GALLERY 12
Epilogue
Echoing the role of the Grand Vestibule at the beginning of Louvre Abu Dhabi’s chronological journey, our final gallery concludes the tour while connecting visitors and the ideas explored in the museum with the wider world. Made of thousands of translucent filaments, Für die Luft (For the air) by Austrian artist Susanna Fritscher is an almost immaterial work that engages with the museum’s architecture, its atmosphere and its unique light. Echoing the geometric motifs of the dome, which is made visible in the gallery by a ceiling-mounted roof light, the immersive piece envelops visitors in its labyrinthine folds, allowing them to become active participants in the work. Coming from all over the world, they embody the universal ambition of Louvre Abu Dhabi while participating in an experience that is simultaneously collective and unique, just like the human condition.
