Activity Timing: 45 minutes 

Materials: Acrylic paints, Paint brushes, Water cup,  An image from your favourite journey

Thinking Questions:

1. How do the colours make you feel?
2. What do you think the shapes and symbols represent in the painting? 
3. Which country do you think the artist was trying to depict his painting?

Instructions: 

1. Look at your photograph of your journey 
2. Notice the different shapes and colours in the image
3. Think about how to edit the detail down into simple shapes 
4. Use paint to create the different blocks of colour
5. Let the paint dry
6. Use black paint to add simple marks to depict the key objects or people in your photograph

Ask someone to identify the place in your memory painting.
