Post-Impressionism: Beyond Appearances showcases iconic masterpieces from the Post-Impressionist period, including works by renowned artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Georges Seurat, Henri-Edmond Cross, Emile Bernard, Paul Sérusier, Maurice Denis, and Odilon Redon.

The exhibition's narrative unfolds in nine sections, each celebrating both the individual styles and the shared themes that connect this transformative era in art. Visitors can follow paths dedicated to Neo-Impressionism, Cézanne, Gauguin and Pont-Aven, Van Gogh, the Nabis, Toulouse-Lautrec, Odilon Redon, Prints, and the new movements that emerged. These sections offer an intimate look at the Post-Impressionist masters, allowing visitors to delve deeper into their works and ideas.

The final section of the exhibition, which includes works by Egyptian artist Georges Hanna Sabbagh, illustrates the far-reaching influence of Post-Impressionism beyond Europe, and underscores the museum's dedication to expanding the art history canon.

Four interactive multimedia devices invite visitors to engage with video projections, explore the personal stories of the artists, and even experiment with creating their own artworks. These hands-on experiences complement the vibrant journey through one of the most innovative and influential periods in art history. Organised by Louvre Abu Dhabi in partnership with Musée d’Orsay and France Muséums.
