Discover how human and animal forms shaped the design of spectacular masks. Back in the workshop, create a mask using an assortment of 3D materials.

Architecture: Inside Out

Under the dome, children discover and observe the complex geometric shapes of Jean Nouvel’s modern interpretation of the traditional dome. In the studio, children work together to create a large-scale model.

Budding artists of all ages are invited to join award-winning Emirati artist Asmaa AlRemeithi in a unique weekly sketching session under Louvre Abu Dhabi’s dome.
Each week, Asmaa will take the participants on a tour under the dome to pick their inspirations and lead a creative workshop in the calm space of our Ottoman Pavement.
Material will be provided. No experience is necessary.
Free with a museum admission ticket (AED63, children under 13 free)

About Asmaa AlRemeithi
Asmaa AlRemeithi is an Emirati artist specialising in manga, and has been illustrating and designing for more than 14 years. She has participated in Middle East Comic Con, Off Topic’s Japanese Carnival and IGN Convention. In 2016, her short comic “Turning Point” won the ADMAF Comic Arts Award from the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation.
She is passionate about art and encouraging and motivating others to be better artists.

Sketch like Rembrandt

Two-day Art Masterclass with Matt McGrady

A rare opportunity to study the artistic techniques of the Dutch Masters up close, surrounded by artworks from Rembrandt and his contemporaries.
The two-day masterclass begins with a visit to the exhibition Rembrandt, Vermeer & The Dutch Golden Age to explore the artist’s use of gestural drawing, mark making and directional line illustration. Then, return to the art studio to use mixed media to develop your own sketches and create a single finished artwork.
The masterclass is led by art-educator Matt McGrady.
