Image of a Queen or a Goddess

360 BCE-282 BCE

This low-relief shows a female head with very fine features wearing a vulture headdress. It is difficult to identify the figure depicted in the absence of any further attribute. Is she the mother goddess Mut, tutelary divinity of the reigning family, or a queen similarly endowed with maternal and protective functions?
