The call to arms

A sculpture that openly acknowledges its aesthetic debt to the past - and to Michelangelo’s Pietà in particular - The Call to Arms blends naturalism and expressionism to commemorate heroic sacrifice while embodying the revolutionary forces that transformed French life, thought, and art during the 19th century.
