Eid at Louvre Abu Dhabi

In celebration of Eid al-Fitr, we bring to you a selection of free activities for you and your families over two days.

Inspired by our temporary exhibitions, Versailles & the World and Stories of Paper, we present to you a variety of film screenings, a cine-sketching activity, a one-of-a-kind cine-concert in Abu Dhabi, and experience unique audio-visual experiences under the dome.

Join us on 4 and 5 May and make the most out of Eid at Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Film screenings

Inspired from Versailles & the World exhibition
The exhibition Versailles & the World illustrates how the French palace became a unique meeting place for different civilisations and cultural exchange. Following this theme, we will showcase a selection of films exploring the richness of cultures across extraordinary travels between the East and the West.

Physiognomy, Land and Territory

During the Eid Festival, immerse yourself in the mind of Emirati artist Ahmad Saeed Al Areef Al Dhaheri and embark on his visual journey towards Firasa.

Inspired by Bedouin beliefs, this enchanting audio-visual meditation explores multidisciplinary environments across multiple continents that encompass landscapes and the night sky's extra-terrestrial vastness.

Cine-Concert

The Adventures of Prince Achmed

Silent movie

In collaboration with Cinema Akil and Berklee Abu Dhabi, we offer you a one-of-a-kind cine-concert experience with Tarik Omar, the electronic musician and producer, Samvel Gasparyan, the pianist, and Yarub Smarait the violinist. While mixing improvisation with contemporary electronic music from the Arab world, the live music artists will reinterpret the soundtrack of the silent film classic, The Adventures of Prince Achmed.

Inspired from Stories of Paper exhibition
The Stories of Paper exhibition explores the properties of paper across history. Defined as our common heritage of Humanity, paper has always been a universal medium facilitating dialogues between cultures.
For the Eid at Louvre Abu Dhabi, we have selected films from around the world highlighting the different uses of paper for the pleasure of families. Discover the incredible story of Kubo and the two strings and try the cine-sketching activity with your children to power up their creativity.
