Ancient heroes from the Islamic world and China
Cultures have more in common than we know. Inspired by our new exhibition Dragon and Phoenix, we will be screening a series of films for the whole family around the long history of cultural exchange between the Islamic world and China, bringing ancient myths and legends to life.
On 19 November, 26 November, and 10 December, we will show short films, a multi-cultural collection of folktales from around the world, followed by different feature films every week - The Monkey King: Uproar in Heaven, Bilal: A New Breed of Hero, and Raya and the Last Dragon. Discover how the spirit of adventure can conquer adversity and help us discover our inner hero.

Watch three short films played on a loop throughout the afternoon. The Crown and the Sceptre, Shepherd Boy Tumur, and Pondi & Ponda, are a rich collection of folktales from around the world. The series was born from a simple idea: no nation is poor in stories, and we are all enriched by sharing them.
