Enjoy the charm of the serene waters around Louvre Abu Dhabi in a kayak and pause as you paddle to watch a screening projected onto the museum wall. For a limited time, you can book a special kayaking tour that includes the screening of the family saga The Arabian Nights: Adventures of Sinbad.

From Scheherazade’s ‘Tales of the 1001 Nights’ comes this saga of 22-minute episodes, in Arabic with English subtitles, of a brave little boy who sets off to sea with his friends and has the most incredible adventures. From an island ruled by man-eating birds to haunted deserts, Sinbad and his friends Ali Baba, the raven Sheila and the ferryman Aladdin take a journey to defeat a series of creatures and restore the raven Sheila to her original form – a beautiful young princess.

Awaken your childhood memories as you enjoy a different episode each week of the Adventures of Sinbad (from Arabic السندباد—As-Sindibad, 三保 "Sānbǎo", from Chinese) that are greatly influenced by Zheng He, the great voyager from the Ming Dynasty, China. As part of our new exhibition, Dragon and Phoenix, this family saga illustrates the long history of cultural exchange between the Islamic world and China.
