Join us in celebrating Ramadan with a poetry night at the museum as part of our Lates programme.
Inspired by the contemporary artwork “Scratches on Paper” by Mohammed Kazem and our new exhibition Stories of Paper, three poets will recite spiritual poems under the Dome of Louvre Abu Dhabi on 27 April.
A simple pair of scissors, the repetition of a sheet of paper, and a gesture, are what Mohammed Kazem puts forth in his artwork. By creating a new kind of Braille alphabet, Kazem offers the viewer a visual poem, allusive notations of the meditative sounds produced when paper is bruised.
Come and listen to the rhymes of the Emirati poets Ali AlShaali, Amal AlSahlawi and Dr. Aysha AlShamsi, and enjoy the immersive augmented reality of the Damascene courtyard around the Ottoman Pavement, Al Bahra. The poems will be recited in Arabic. The seats are limited, so please make sure to arrive early to enjoy the poetry night (first-come, first-served).
Note: You will need to show a “Green” status on AlHosn app to enter the museum.
