Kalila Wa Dimna Talk Series
Don’t miss your chance to be a part of a unique talk series in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, and L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts supported by Van Cleef & Arples, on one of the best-known works of Arabic literature, Kalila wa Dimna, which stands as a testament to its enduring cultural legacy.
Inspired by our latest exhibition, “From Kalīla wa Dimna to La Fontaine: Travelling through Fables”, our renowned speakers will be taking you through how the text, from its Indian origins to the present day, crosses literature in East and West, while discussing how the stories became well-known, from textual transmissions to illustrative ones. The talk will cover a variety of aspects, from what’s being taught in schools, to the impact the text had on literature and performing arts on regional and global scale.
