In alignment with COP28, Louvre Abu Dhabi brings to you “Sustainability in Museums” on December 7. Join us for three insightful talks and guided tours, all dedicated to exploring sustainability in collaboration with France Muséums.
University Take Over the Museum: The Sustainability Challenge: ‘Make the Intangible Tangible or the Tangible Intangible’ Talk
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | AuditoriumUniversity students will share their perspectives and concepts on Louvre Abu Dhabi’s challenge: ‘Make the Intangible Tangible or the Tangible Intangible.’ Using the museum’s collection as a catalyst, students creatively engage with sustainability. Encouraged to draw inspiration from the collection, message, and core values, they craft artistic interventions—be it performances, interactions, research presentations, or other creative activities.

France Muséums Talk 1: How to rewire the arts and culture fields to address climate change: 3 voluntary case studies with positive impacts

Louvre Abu Dhabi and France Muséums have invited museum and cultural experts to present case studies and the best practices in museums. The discussion will address museums’ environmental impact, explore how we can support artists’ social consciousness without restricting their creativity, and explore how environmental exhibitions contribute to cultural practices and capacity building.

Group Express Tour – Sustainability by Design: Join us for a guided tour to explore the notion of sustainability through the architecture and design of the museum, inspired by the Al Ain Oasis to create an environmental micro-climate, in addition to an exploration of specific artworks to discuss materiality and cultural heritage sustainability.
