London, Houses of Parliament (Sun Breaking Through the Fog)
Monet first came to London as a refugee fleeing the Franco-Prussian War (1870-71). He then returned to the British capital three times between 1899 and 1901 for several weeks at a time, often staying at the Savoy Hotel from where he repeatedly painted the Thames, its bridges, and the Houses of Parliament.
